Abstract

There is a huge discrepancy between the opportunities provided to both women and men’s sports. Men’s teams have always taken precedence and not just in sports, in resources provided, and opportunities to coach and lead in the world. The progress women have made over the last century or even in the last decade is massive and a step in the right direction. However, the literature points to their still being a massive gap as well as stagnation within the progress. Ever since the passing of Title IX, women have been afforded more opportunities, yet the playing field is far from level. This research is focused on equality in sports including the salary gap, opportunity, and facilities/equipment.
