Description
My eyes finally opened. This is my favorite line from my book about the journey of my traumatic brain injury. I had tackled lots of pain caused by an infection in my brain that should not have been there. For this project I envisioned showcasing my whole story from the start of the pain to the end. I realized this was too much to tackle and focused on the surgeries that healed me and the motivation I had. The images I choose are to help symbolize the story I was telling. The pictures also show real people in my life. I used a mixture of watercolor, drawings, and pictures for this book to try and capture what was being told best. This process was not easy at all. I had so many visions for what I wanted to do and the book did not come out as any of them. I also learned that turning 6-8 pages of an essay into less than 500 words with pictures is not easy.
