The maps in this collection illustrate the compounded flood risk, based upon high-tide data combined with 100-year flood risk and climate stressors such as more intense and frequent precipitation events. Sources such as the Portland tidal gauge, FEMA flood maps and the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) reports helped determine the overlays projected onto satellite imagery of Portland, South Portland and Chebeague Island – depicting the potential compounded flood risk in these areas.
