Abstract
Interview with Jake J Gordon, chauffeur at the Maine Chance Farm for one summer in 1963. Jake discusses being born in Ukraine, coming to US in 1949, and to East Pittston, Maine in 1951. He met Dan Tailor, a fraternity brother at University of Maine, who got him a job as a chauffeur at Maine Chance Farm in the summer of 1963. He discusses duties of the chauffeur, the relationship among guests and employees, the grounds at Maine Chance Farm, and typical activities of guests. Guests mentioned include Edna Ferber, Ava Gardener, Sylvia Porter, Mrs. Porteous and Margaret Payson of Portland.
