Connections
Lex Lecrone
The Library is a tool of connection. Not just to books, but to technology, resources, and even to faculty.

Enthusiasm
Lex Lecrone
One of the most reoccurring characteristics of my time at the library was the sheer enthusiasm of every staff member in all the work that they do.
The art in this poster is inspired by a mill replica painstakingly made by a staff member of the Osher Map Library for an exhibit on mills in New England, particularly Lawrence, Massachusetts.

Libraries Are Their People
Lex Lecrone
I came to USM having no idea what career I wanted to pursue, what my passion or focus was. Then I joined the Student Library Advisory Board.
Through SLAB I had exposure to work which I had no Idea would be so vital or personally fulfilling. Every opportunity I have had with the libraries has enriched my life beyond words.
During my work on this project, I realized that the greatest value offered is the passion, graciousness, and willingness to give time that these incredible staff and involved students have. Depicted above is me meeting with librarian and my project supervisor, Carrie. A person who was not just a supervisor, but a true mentor.

Welcoming Spaces

Pictured is art inspired by the USM Library's plan giveaway event, Plant Palooza. The table cloth pattern is inspired by textile patterns in the mill exhibit at the Osher Map Library.

Abstract: This project was a poster series for the USM Libraries. The Libraries have an issue of students failing to recognize how many resources they have available to them at the libraries, as well as just how accessible those services are, and just how relaxed and welcoming the environment of the libraries is. The poster series, consisting of seven posters all made twice to cover both aesthetic design and accessibility design, covers distinct themes for the purposes of informing students on the libraries, as well as making them feel more comfortable and human. The library, with its incredible staff and resources, is a space for students and our community to have transformative experiences. The hope in developing this poster series, is that viewers feel more empowered and informed to seek these experiences out.
Each poster features a version designed primarily for aesthetics, and one designed for visual accesibility.
