Comments
Jensen describes how difficult and intense the work environment is for a young outsider. Mill was dangerous, hot, intense chemical odors, known and unknown dangers. Describes chaotic layout of the 130 year old mill at time of his employment; it took many months simply to know one's way around. Also rough, harsh behavior and language of male workers.
