Abstract
This research examines the activities and methods that are influential in cultivating and inspiring women to be leaders in any occupation. Everyday working women lack access to general knowledge on what approaches are offered and accessible in their development towards a leadership position, i.e., support specialist to manager. Women may not necessarily have the time to read available leadership development literature due to their busy schedules, and most companies do not promote methods that would support a woman’s climb up the leadership ladder. This grounded theory study analyzes approaches to women’s leadership development deemed meaningful by six women with diverse experiences and different age ranges from around the world who have held or presently in a leadership role. The women were asked only a few specific questions that allowed them to expand on and be honest and candid as their identities were coded for their privacy.
