Abstract
Shark Bite Capital of the World is about a family who go to see the final space shuttle launch in the summer of 2011. Bean, the oldest daughter, is moving to Delaware for a job. Logan, the younger, is moving to Northern California for college. Their dad, Bowman, is going nowhere at all.
The novel takes place in New Smyrna Beach, a small town on the east coast of Florida. As new disasters and past resentments threaten to strain their already tenuous relationships, each family member must figure out what they like about each other -- maybe even love-- and whether their family is even worth holding together.
