Description
A conversation with Muriel Pierce, president of PFLAG Portland.
Muriel grew up in a small town in Western Washington State and attended the University of Washington. She worked as a Reading Specialist during her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Turkey and she lived in Berlin, Germany for 3 1/2 years during the time that the Berlin Wall was torn down.
She is the mother of 3 adult children, the youngest of whom is transgender.
Muriel currently tutors a Syrian woman through Learning Works and she is in awe of the good fortune she has of spending time with her grandchildren.
