Description of City/Town
Berwick is located on the Salmon Falls River opposite Great Falls, New Hampshire. Settled in the seventeenth century, Berwick was incorporated as a town in 1713. In the post-Civil War period, two hundred people were employed in a local shoe factory. Other industries included a soap factory, a candy factory, a tannery, and several sawmills.
