Description of City/Town
Located in the town of Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor was noted for its fine harbor and fishing fleet. By the 1880s the village had become a popular summer resort and the center for several island summer colonies. Businesses included two marine railways, a fish processing plant, a lobster canning factory, and a fertilizer manufacturing company.
