The Jean Byers Sampson Center for Diversity in Maine General Collection consists of collections of personal papers and archives of organizations who worked for civil rights and diversity in Maine. It includes the papers of Jean Byers Sampson, for whom the Center was named. It also contains a print collection, primarily of publications by the Sampson Center. The collection focuses on historical sources, excluding creative works of fiction or art, unless such works document civil rights and diversity in Maine. Most of the material dates from the 21st century to the present.

Amjambo Africa!
Amjambo Africa! is Maine’s free newspaper for and about New Mainers from Africa. Paper and digital editions of the newsletter are published on a monthly basis in several languages including English, French, Kinyarwanda, Portuguese, Swhahili, and Somali.
TORCH: The Civil Rights Team Project (CRTP) Newsletter
The Maine Office of the Attorney General administers the Civil Rights Team Project (CRTP). The CRTP’s mission is to increase the safety of elementary, middle school, and high school students by reducing bias-motivated behaviors and harassment in our schools. The Torch is the CRTP newsletter, published three to four times per year.
Catalyst for Change Awards
The Jean Byers Sampson Center for Diversity in Maine Catalyst for Change Award was created to acknowledge individuals who have been catalysts for change regarding diversity, equality, human and civil rights in Maine, particularly (but not exclusively) as it relates to the Sampson Collection populations (African American; Jewish; and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender people).
