Description
Marie Thérèse Lucille Paré (1923-2007) was born in Auburn, the daughter of Aurore Lessard Paré and Cyrille Paré. During the Great Depression, Lucille’s father worked as a lumberjack in Canada, and she boarded at the Ave Maria Academy, run by the Dominicans, which has opened in Sabattus in 1929. Lucille lived at the convent from age 7 (second grade) until graduation at 18. At age 26, she joined the Dominican order and remained a nun until her death, aged 83. She was prioress of the Lewiston convent for a number of years.
