Abstract

Background: Appropriate medical coverage helps manage the risk of serious injury during participation in secondary school athletics. While there is an established system in the United States that incorporates athletic trainers within the secondary school athlete’s healthcare team, Canadian secondary school athletes tend to lack access to similar coverage.
