Special Collections has commencement or graduation programs dating back as far as 1870. The programs contain the order of events for the graduation ceremony and the names of the graduates.
The programs come from USM and all of its preceding academic institutions: Gorham Seminary, Gorham Normal School, Western Normal School, Gorham State Teachers College, Gorham State College, Gorham State College of The University of Maine, Portland University, Portland Junior College, University of Maine in Portland, University of Maine Portland-Gorham, and the University of Maine School of Law
