Course Catalogs are documents that describe a student's course of study. What is contained in the catalog depends on the institution and has changed over time. But most catalogs have lists of classes offered, a list of what is required to be taken, school policies, and calender. Some of them also include a list of students and professors, costs of attendance, even sample admissions tests.
Special collections has holdings of catalogs from USM and all of its preceding academic institutions: Gorham Normal School, Gorham State Teachers College, Gorham State College, Portland University, Portland Junior College, University of Maine in Portland, and the University of Maine Portland-Gorham. Course catalogs were published as PDFs and were not printed from 2008 to 2015. From 2019 to the present, course catalogs were published on the web and were not printed.
