Monument Description

The monument is made principally of granite. Five rectangular slabs are joined together, each standing on a base block of granite. The middle slab is higher than the others. The four peripheral slabs each have one bronze plaque. The middle slab has two, one being a dedication plaque. In front of the monument is another granite slab with engravings dedicated to Skowhegan's citizens who served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. Behind the monument are three flag poles which respectively bear and American, a Canadian, and a Maine state flag. The park contains various other monuments and markers, all connected by pathways of red brick.
