All right. Well, good morning, everybody and welcome to the first and only live a prison Eastern during today's Thinking Matters as my understanding from Jen, just kinda cool. So I think this will be really interesting for the panel members. This is the ESP for 98 ESP 598 grant writing seminar. That's a 15 week two credit course. The home of the course is in Environmental Science that certainly could be cross-listed in all other departments. This is the first year that we were very explicit that the 59 eight version of the course for graduate credit is included explicitly in the syllabus and in a catalog. Because we've, we had problems with some other students, graduate students that were not allowed, but ultimately we're allowed to to account for those credits in their transcript. So anyway, we have stomach seven students this year. There are two graduate students and five undergraduates, three or four, I believe, for the grant. So obviously, two graduate students are taking this for 59 eight credit and got to undergrads that are taking this for graduate credit. The others are our road. This is undergraduate course. As I said, it's a 15 week course. Students have activities that they have to submit, including their, their abstracts for thinking matter, logic model, and a kind of a funder analysis. But funds, funding agencies Victor their needs and then they submit their draft proposals to be considered by the panel. They get the comments and they finalized, sir their proposal that's due by Tuesday of next week because of the timing of the class. Some I think or maybe most of the students. And this has been historically, but for five years, I think Rob, This has been on the books or maybe six students are in identifying we start funding opportunities that can actually write a proposal in response to an RFP that they wish to submit in conjunction with maybe faculty members or, or community members. Those proposals may include community members. Sometimes it doesn't fit, they can't find a funding. So we kind of work with them to develop a format based on the classes that we provide, that we go through all the elements of a of an application from beginning to end, including budget than pre and post award kind of activities. And then they prepare their proposals. So this year has been quite an interesting semester from snow days to I had an illness. I I I I traveled. Maggie was sick one day, I think one of the classes. And then all of a sudden we had the lockdown, which, which was very interesting. So it's been quite a journey. But I think everybody on this, a lot of our students have really tried their best and, and I think they're all looking forward and had been there had been prepped to making their respective presentations today based on the proposals that essential. So I think that's an intro Jen. And perhaps what we can do is to have everybody on the call introduced themselves. Yep. But then you can you can go onto your part of the agenda. I will kick things off. I am Jennifer Pratt. I am helping coordinate Thinking Matters this year. And as Terry mentioned, we do it as a locked down in a virus. We've had to switch gears and go from an in-person event, which would have been held to today to a virtual event hosted by digital comments. Just that comes in, you'll meet her in a little that but she has saved the day and is able to help us promote this in our student work. So thank you for that, but I'm here to help moderate today's session. So that's who I am and welcome. And let's go onto Rob, who I see isn't my next tile.
