Abstract
Interview with Lois Siegler, whose husband, Clyde Williams, worked at the Maine Chance Farm as a handyman and caretaker from 1958 to 1972, sometimes during summers, and other times year round. Lois discusses being born in Aroostic county and spending summers in Mount Vernon with her grandparents. Her husband and his boss, Howard Littlefield, worked on the “farm side” of the business, taking care of multiple properties that Arden purchased from Mount Vernon families. Lois remembers the challenge of raising a family on a relatively small salary.
