Abstract

Children (N = 37, aged 3:1-6:10) were tested on grammaticality judgments & sensitivity to contrastive stress in an effort to decide between two competing explanations of children's poor performance on principle B. Results demonstrated a high correlation between principle B performance & sensitivity to contrastive stress.
