Abstract

Archduke Franz Ferdinand has been assassinated. A European war is all but ensured, and Alexandra Connolly knows more about the coming conflagration than a proper young lady should. Much to her mother's consternation, she is more interested in arguing politics with the guests at their garden party than in finding a husband amongst the eligible young men.
